Dean Faithful Friends,
Long Distance Ministry
We continue the weekly Bible study by way of Google Meet with the group of Brazilians in the city of Londrina, Paraná, Brazil. We have been studying the book of Genesis and are now looking at the narrative of the flood. Our group has settled down to between 8 and 10. Some are not able to attend the actual session because of personal and church responsibilities. The studies have been recorded so that those who miss the actual study can watch it later on video. This has been a real learning experience for all of us. Although there is the possibility to communicate back and forth, the element of real personal contact is not there. Even so, the word from Brazil is that the studies are being a blessing to those who are participating.
Ministry Opportunities
Although we have made it known that Don is available to preach for missions conferences or to fill pulpits, there have not been many who have called. We are thankful for the opportunities that have arisen and are trusting the Lord to use us to be a blessing to the churches. Your prayers in this respect are appreciated. We want to be able to be a blessing. If we can be of service to your church, please contact us. While we wait for these opportunities, we remain faithful to participate in our local church activities of visitation and Bible studies. Don is also writing materials and to be used both in Brazil and the US. These materials are now being reviewed by various people to make sure the content is clear and grammatically correct.
Reports from Brazil
We constantly receive reports from the church in Cornélio Procópio, Paraná. The church is doing very well and, although it has not grown much, is stable and active. The pastor is a good man, and he and his wife are faithful. The church had their VBS and mission conference in the months of January and February. (Those are their summer months.) They have a monthly Bible club for children and have made some new contacts through this. They faithfully support three Brazilian missionaries. These reports, and others, continue to encourage us by knowing that our work is not in vain. We trust that you will also be encouraged knowing that your prayers and support for the work over the years was not in vain.
Thank you for your prayers and interest as we carry on the ministry that the Lord has given us.
